2nd Late Smt. Sarala Anant Bapat Memorial Rapid Chess Tournament

A one-day FIDE Rapid event in Pune on Sunday, 28 September 2025, at Symbiosis Sports Centre. First 160 entries only. 7–8 round Swiss, 15+10 time control, ₹30,000 prize fund plus category prizes. Register via CircleChess.

The Buddhibal Kreeda Trust, recognized by the Pune District Chess Circle and sponsored by Shri Vivek Bapat and Udayan Bapat, is hosting the 2nd Late Smt. Sarala Anant Bapat Memorial Rapid Chess Tournament for rated players only. The event is capped at the first 160 entries.

  • Date: Sunday, 28 September 2025

  • Venue: Symbiosis Sports Centre, Prabhat Road, Lane No. 15, Pune 411004

Eligibility

  • Open to players with Rapid OR Classical FIDE rating.

  • If a player has both ratings, Rapid rating will be used for pairing.

Schedule

  • Reporting: 8:30 AM

  • Players’ Meeting: 8:45 AM

  • Inauguration: 9:00 AM

  • Round 1: 9:15 AM

  • Pairings/Entries: Daily entry lists at 9:00 PM on chess-results.com; Round-1 pairings to be published on 27 September 2025, 6:00 PM on chess-results.com.

Format & Time Control

  • Swiss League: 7–8 rounds (as scheduled by the organizers)

  • Time Control: 15 minutes + 10 seconds increment from move 1

Entry & Registration

  • Entry Fee: ₹400, payable through CircleChess (QR available in the brochure)

  • Last Date: 26 September 2025 or on reaching 160 entries, whichever is earlier.
